You don't need a studio. A pro webinar runs on a few well-chosen basics.
And the most important thing isn't the picture. It's the sound.
The essentials in one picture
Four things really matter. Sound, light, a decent camera, a stable connection.
The backdrop comes later. Start simple, improve afterward.
Sound above all
An average picture is fine. Bad sound drives people away.
Put your budget into a mic before anything else. A lapel mic or a USB mic on your desk is more than enough.
Light changes everything
A lamp facing you transforms your image more than a $500 camera.
A window during the day does the job. Otherwise, a ring light. Never light behind you, or you end up backlit.
Camera and connection
Your laptop webcam is enough to get started. Better still, an external webcam or a DSLR.
For your network, plug in with a cable if you can. A laggy live stream means viewers leaving.
Our picks
Enough to start clean, then move upmarket whenever you want.
The rest is a bonus
Neutral background, second screen, teleprompter. Nice, not essential.
Start with the essentials, you'll add the comfort later. For the flow of the live session, see how to run a webinar from A to Z.
